Save Bali from the Overtourism
This is a Response to the Pariwisata Berkelanjutan wikithon
Bali is a paradise on earth, but are we going to let it be ruined by overtourism? Traffic jams, piling up of trash, and marginalized culture are signs we need to hear. We cannot just enjoy the beauty of Bali without maintaining its balance. The government must take bold action by limiting the number of tourists through tourist taxes and quotas in crowded places. Tourists also need to be directed to explore Bali's hidden wonders by promoting alternative destinations. Don't let only big investors enjoy the profits, local communities must be the main part of tourism through homestays. We must also protect the environment by reducing the use of single-use plastic, improving waste management, and encouraging the use of environmentally friendly public transportation. Most importantly, tourists must learn to respect Balinese culture, not just come to take pictures. Bali can remain a world-class destination, but only if we act now. Don't wait until it's too late, it's time for all of us to take responsibility so that Bali remains a world-class destination.
