Biography

I Made Bachelor was born in Denpasar, November 23, 1963. He graduated from Indonesian Literature, Faculty of Letters, Udayana University. He started writing poetry as a teenager and was widely published in the Bali Post on the motivation of Ida Bagus Dharma Palguna. His poetry has also been published in Horison Magazine, Kompas, as well as in the book Journey of the Night, Hijau Kelon, Sang Guru. He joined Sanggar Putih and was a journalist for Magazine Sarad (2000 – 2002). He has also won first place in the Poetry Writing Competition for Unud Academic Magazine (1985), first winner in the Bali Poetry Reading Contest (Faksas Unud), and 1st place in the Bali Teacher Poetry Reading Contest. Now he devotes himself as an elementary school teacher.

I Made Sarjana lahir di Denpasar, 23 November 1963. Dia lulusan Sastra Indonesia, Fakultas Sastra, Universitas Udayana. Mulai menulis puisi sejak remaja dan banyak dimuat di Bali Post atas motivasi Ida Bagus Dharma Palguna. Puisinya juga pernah dimuat di Majalah Horison, Kompas, juga terhimpun dalam buku Perjalanan Malam, Hijau Kelon, Sang Guru. Pernah bergabung dengan Sanggar Putih dan sempat menjadi wartawan Majalan Sarad (2000 – 2002). Dia juga pernah meraih Juara I Lomba Cipta Puisi Majalah Akademika Unud (1985), Juara I Lomba Membaca Puisi Bali (Faksas Unud), Juara Harapan 1 Lomba Baca Puisi Guru se-Bali. Sekarang dia mengabdikan diri sebagai guru SD.

Basically, agritourism is to place the primary sector (agricultural sector) in the tertiary sector (tourism sector) to increase farmer's income. Farmers in the agricultural sector have to get some benefits from agritourism activities. Besides that, agritourism can secure agricultural sustainability and avoid the agricultural sector from the marginalization process. There are some reasons why tourists like to see natural activities and agritourism activities. In Bali, there are some agritourism regions with several different management models. This article discusses the general model of agritourism development in Bali and is hopefully useful for agritourism development in other areas in Indonesia.
