Overtourism make Bali worried
This is a Response to the Pariwisata Berkelanjutan wikithon
Bali faces a significant challenge due to overtourism, where the number of tourists continues to rise without proper management. Uncontrolled accommodation development and excessive promotion without considering environmental capacity have worsened the situation. If left unchecked, Bali’s natural beauty and cultural heritage could be at risk. Therefore, it is time for the government to implement a tourist quota policy in certain destinations, restrict environmentally harmful construction, and promote quality-based rather than quantity-based tourism. Communities and industry players must also take an active role in promoting alternative destinations and educating tourists about the importance of sustainable tourism. With these efforts, we can maintain a balance between the tourism sector, the environment, and culture, ensuring that Bali remains preserved for future generations.
