Detoxifying the poison of overtourism in Bali is by taking strict and wise action against written and unwritten regulations. The unwritten is the social norms that we adhere to, as Balinese people. It is true that our livelihood lies in foreign tourists. However, that doesn't mean we can just follow to these tourists. How we can respect each other, as "home" owners and "guests" that visiting "our home". We can be more firm in responding them, don't be people pleaser. On the other hand, if regulations already exist, it would be good for us as "home owners" to able follow and implement the existing regulations. We need awareness for us to implement existing regulations. We can use the FOMO phenomenon that is currently rife among Gen-Z to a better direction, so by giving example of implementing these regulations, we can persuade people to join the FOMO of implementing these regulations.
