WAYAN JENGKI SUNARTA was born in Denpasar, Bali, June 22nd, 1975. He is a graduate of Udayana University, Cultural Anthropology, Faculty of Letters, and studied painting at ISI Denpasar. Jenkgi has been writing poetry since the early 1990s, and later also wrote lyrical prose, short stories, features, essays/art and culture articles, critics/art reviews, and novels.
His writings are published in various local and national mass media, among them Kompas, Koran Tempo, Media Indonesia, Republika, Suara Pembaruan, The Jakarta Post, Jawa Post, Pikiran Rakyat, Bali Post, Jurnal Kebudayaan Kalam, Jurnal Cerpen Indonesia, Majalah Sastra Horison, Majalah Gong, Majalah Visual Arts, Majalah Arti, and Majalah Sarasvati.

NOVEL Magening
The eighth book in the work of Wayan 'Jengki' Sunarta at a thickness of 164 pages is a very densely nuanced ethnography. The 'traditional' account of Bali is extensively analyzed, from the beauty of natural panoramas, the Balinese people's spiritual space for magic, work according to the rhythms of nature, young women of Bali, as well as tuak (palm wine) and arak (rice wine). The story in this novel is tinged by a romantic narrative that is "alluring" and "melancholic".

NOVEL: MONTASE
"Montase is a book of my poetry, fifth after previous work. Montase brings together 55 poems I chose from a period of composition from 2010 to 2016 and that had not yet been published in the same volume. But of course I will not stop here. At some later time, I will return to put out a book of poetry that makes me continue to feel meaning in going through life."
