documentation on September 13, 2021 at SMA Negeri Bali Mandara, at that time we were still in the process of making lamp bases using plastic and cardboard waste.

This LAPONTIK is a multi-functional lamp made of plastic bottle waste, which can be used as a study lamp or a bed lamp, and decorative lamps. The color of this lamp can also be changed as desired

Description

Plastic waste is a separate problem that needs attention. This is because plastic waste takes hundreds of years to decompose. Plastic waste is also not environmentally friendly and is one of the contributors to greenhouse gas emissions if the decomposition of this waste is done by burning. At SMA Negeri Bali Mandara we made a solution to this problem, on September 10 to September 16 we were students at SMA Negeri Bali Mandara, and were assisted by the community to make crafts from plastic waste in order to reduce plastic waste, and increase the community's creative sense in take advantage of unused items, namely LAPONTIK "Multi-Function Study Lamp"

Why does the innovation or project matter?

This project is very important to reduce plastic waste, especially plastic bottle waste, which is the most abundant in Indonesia, especially the Bali area, adding to the community's creative sense in processing waste, not only that this craft can also make students have beautiful and unique study lights with very little capital. inexpensive

How do you or your team know that the innovation or project is working (or making a positive contribution)?

In order for this initiative to be implemented and produce positive results, we agreed to make the product as unique and beautiful as possible to attract public interest, especially among children and teenagers. That's because the information obtained by the LANPONTIK lamp is more needed by children to teenagers who are still learning, besides that we also introduce this craft through social media and directly

What has contributed to the innovation or project working?

To make this craft, we need quite a lot of plastic waste, paint, and tools such as scissors, glue gun, thread, and needles. Because making this craft is a bit difficult, we need help with making it, searching for it, and gathering materials. For that we were assisted by several students of SMA Negeri Bali Mandara, and the surrounding community.

What else would help the innovation or project be more successful?

In order for this initiative to be successful, it really needs human awareness in maintaining the environment so that it becomes a clean and safe environment, people who like new and unique things, as well as the increasing number of young people who are creative in processing waste so that this initiative can be developed again to make it more attractive and modern.

Is the innovation or project self-sustaining? If not, what needs to be done for that to happen?

to keep this craft sustainable, namely, there is always product development every year so that people don't get bored with the same design, and this can provide an opportunity for people who have creative ideas to modify the design of this lamp to make it even more interesting, with the existence of product development every year then there will likely be new enthusiasts who make this product sustainable

What Balinese value does this initiative invoke?

the manufacture of this craft contains local creativity, namely ringgit, the ringgit technique is usually used when sewing to form leaves to make it better at cutting bottles and forming plastic, we shape it with the ringgit technique so that the shape of each piece of plastic is more beautiful and varied.
