Eight Kinds of Food Commonly Found in Ubud.
This article provides information about traditional Balinese food and the kinds of foods which are popular around Ubud.
1. Spit Roasted Suckling Pig. This is found throughout Bali. Many people are familiar with and like roast suckling pig. From children to adults, all like to eat it. Roast suckling pig is a young pig roasted in a complete array of herbs and spices (chilli, shallots, garlic, kencur*, etc.) and filled with coconut oil to enhance the aroma and taste. In the past, a suckling pig was roasted if there was an important ceremony (temple festivals, weddings, otonan* (see oton), etc.) but nowadays you can readily buy roast suckling pig all over Bali and Ubud. If you go to Ubud, you can buy roast suckling pig at warung* (roadside food stalls). However, don’t eat too much because it has a high fat and cholesterol content.

Tulisan ini akan menjelaskan tentang makanan-makanan asli Bali dan yang sudah terkenal di daerah Ubud.
1. Babi guling. Makanan ini sudah umum di masyarakat Bali. Banyak orang tahu dan suka makan babi guling. Dari anak-anak sampai orangtua, semua suka makan babi guling. Babi guling dibuat/diolah dari anak babi yang dicampur dengan bumbu lengkap (cabai, bawang merah, bawang putih, kencur, dan lain- lain) dan diisi minyak kelapa supaya aroma dan rasanya gurih. Tapi sekarang babi guling sudah mudah sekali dibeli di seluruh Bali atau Ubud yang terkenal dengan pariwisatanya. Jika anda berkunjung ke Ubud, babi guling bisa dibeli di warung-warung.
