          Bukakak means half cooked pork. Usaba Bukakak is a ceremony that only exists in Sudaji Village, Sawan, Buleleng, by using a half-baked black pork.

          This ceremony is routinely held every Purnama Karo, around August-September. There is no information regarding when this ceremony was first performed. Local people believe it is something that must be carried out. The roasted pork is then placed into an offering called a sarad, then paraded around the local village. At the village intersection, two groups of residents carrying two bukakak will meet and collide each other as the highlight of the event. Then, the pork is processed into a special type of lawar called Lawar Guntung.

          People who process this meat are not just anyone. There are some special people who are chosen as cooks called patus.

          Bukakak maartos ulam bawi sane rateng atenga. Usaba Bukakak inggih punika upacara sane wantah kalaksanayang ring Desa Sudaji, Sawan, Buleleng, kemanten, tur nganggen sarana bawi selem sane kapanggang atenga.

          Upacara puniki kamargiang nyabran Purnama Karo, sawetara bulan Agustus-September. Nenten wenten sasuratan sane maosin indik pidan upacara puniki kapertama kalaksanayang. Wargine ngugu upacara puniki pinaka ayah-ayahan sane musti kamargiang. Bawi sane sampun kapanggang punika raris kagenahang ring banten sarad, laut kairing ngiterin desane. Ring catuspata desane, kalih kelompk wargi sane ngusung bukakak punika pacang kaadu pinaka puncak upacara. Raris, ulam bawi punika kadadosang lawar sane kabaos Lawar Guntung.

          Anak sane ngracik lawar puniki nenten ja wargi biasa. Wenten akudang wargi sane kusus katitah dados juru rateng sane kabaos patus.

          Bukakak berarti daging babi yang matang setengah. Usaba Bukakak adalah upacara yang hanya ada di Desa Sudaji, Sawan, Buleleng, dengan menggunakan seekor babi hitam yang dipanggang setengah matang.

          Upacara ini rutin digelar setiap Purnama Karo, sekitar bulan Agustus-September. Tidak ada keterangan mengenai kapan upacara ini pertama kali dilakukan. Masyarakat setempat meyakininya sebagai hal yang wajib dijalankan. Babi yang telah dipanggang itu kemudian ditempatkan menjadi sebuah sesajen yang disebut sarad, lalu diarak mengelilingi desa setempat. Di perempatan desa, dua kelompok warga yang mengusung bukakak akan diadu sebagai puncak acara. Kemudian, daging babi itu diolah menjadi jenis lawar khas yang disebut Lawar Guntung.

          Orang yang mengolah daging ini pun bukan orang sembarangan. Ada beberapa orang khusus yang dipilih sebagai juru masak yang disebut patus.
