The forest has been laid bare. The trees have been cut down and the wood taken away. Luh Ayu Manik and her friends are deeply saddened to see the forest destroyed. There is a police post in the middle of the forest but, despite this, the thieves are still able to steal wood. Luh Ayu Manik and her friends have come up with a plan to catch the thieves. But unfortunately, their plan has been foiled. And now the thieves are chasing them with a chainsaw. What will happen to Luh Ayu Manik and her friends?

Hutan telah gundul. Pohon-pohon kayu habis dibabat. Luh Ayu Manik dan teman-temannya sedih melihat hutan yang rusak. Di tengah hutan ada pos polisi, tapi tetap ada penjahat yang mencuri kayu. Luh Ayu Manik dan teman-temannya bersepakat untuk menangkap pencuri tersebut. Celakanya, akal-akalan mereka ketahuan. Para pencuri mengejar mereka sembari mengacungkan gergaji mesin. Bagaimana jadinya Luh Ayu Manik dan teman-temannya?

The theme of the story suits the current ongoing environmental issue. In the beginning of the story, it was explained that terrible things would happen if people keep felling the trees in the forest. Love the environment movement must be started from early age. Using Luh Ayu Manik and her friends as the good characters who had big concern on the forest felling and later gathered together to plant trees in the forest will give the young readers of the book an inspiration which hopefully will encourage them to pay more attention and take good care of the environment, in this case, the forest.

To make it more interesting, the author of the book included 2 demon characters from the Balinese mythology, rangda dan celuluk, which masks were used by 2 of Luh Ayu Manik’s friends to scare away the thieves who felled the trees in the forest.

The main character Luh Ayu Manik, who could chance her appearance to a beautiful woman with super natural power and who fought against the thieves, was meant to attract the children’s attention who read the book about a super hero who saved her friends from the bad people.

This story is very good because it tells about the positive action that can be done by teenagers in preserving the forest. It reminds us to care about plants, trees, and do something for our environments.

The story entitled love the forest, by I Made Sugianto is a great masterpiece which can inspire the readers to keep our forest. As the forest become the lung of the earth to give a good care on them. The forest existence distribute a lot to our health. Unfortunately, there are bad people who destroy the sustainability of our forest . Ever worse, the government seems don’t care about this fact. This story warns those who are responsible on protecting the forest. Here is the story. On a mid semester, Luh Ayu Manik and her friends went camping by the seaside. Suddenly it rained happily. Luh AyuManik and her friends sheltered in a communal hall. At the time, Luh Ayu Manik open her instagram and got the news there was a large flood and a bridge collapse. Then she gathered with her friends to make a plan to replant some trees in the forest. and Manik with her friends went to the forest. surprisingly, they discovered the forest had been clear felled. Some days later, Luh Ayu Manik and Luh Putu Suastini went climbing the mountain again. When they arrived on the edge of the forest, there were criminal cutting timber. Luh Ayu Manik and LuhPutu Suastini reported this to the police. But the police didn,t believe them. Luh Ayu Manik was very angry. She made a plan of how to catch the criminals. Her friends agreed with her to scare the criminals. Cut the story short, Luh Ayu Manik and her friends were succeed to catch the criminals and brought them to the police.

The story is really great. It thought people, especially the young generation to aware of their environment. Do efforts to keep them sustainable. The writer has been successful to tell the cause and effect of cutting the forest.
